PRAYER REQUESTS
Many of these prayer requests are ongoing requests. We appreciate your prayers on our behalf. God is a prayer honoring God and delights to not only hear your prayers but also in answering your prayers. It is in this vein that we place these requests before you. We will update them as they are answered so that you may be able to praise the Lord with us for answered prayer and we will place additional requests here for your continued intercession.

Bethany has bought a harp! We praise the Lord for the funds needed to buy this Celtic, lever harp. She already has played for a wedding reception and a nursing home. She has other engagements lined up. God bless you for your prayers and support with this project.

David, Bethany, Charity, and Elisabeth represented SWMI in a Missions Emphasis Week at a large Christian College recently and had a great response from the students and others. One highlight from the conference was that David was able to give a DVD regarding the need to reach the Deaf to a missionary couple returning to Hong Kong. They promised to show the DVD to their students in the Bible College there. Pray for someone to get a burden to reach the deaf in Hong Kong and China
Personal Requests

A trip to India in 2008 - I will be gone for 4 weeks (January 17 - February 19.) I will be speaking in several different places to Bible College students. I will be holding a seminar on "How to Work with the Deaf" and trust God to use Indian nationals to start deaf ministries in several locations. I will also be speaking, Lord willing, to 3 or 4 churches for the Deaf and several hearing churches. Pray for God to work in hearts. I still need $2000 for the trip.

$2000 for a used car - We need a car in which to transport Bethany's harp and for trips when I do not travel with the whole family. Pray about this as well, please.

We have lost several supporting churches because we left Brazil. However, our ministry is now worldwide and requires even more funds, not less. (I have trips to Brazil and Africa scheduled for 2008 also.) So we need to get into more churches and raise more monthly support. Please pray about that need.

Sale of a house in Brazil - Actually, we have sold our house to another missionary. However, they can not pay us for their house till they sell their own house. Their house is up for sale but has not sold yet. The funds from that sale will be used to pay us for our house. Please make this a matter of prayer..
Field Requests

SWMI is in need of two executive administrators to help carry on the work of pursuit of new laborers, working with national pastors, missions conferences, and overseeing works on the field. Please, pray that God would raise up these two men with experience working with the deaf to carry out these responsibilities.

Pastor Rinaldo’s wife, Edenir – Edenir is experiencing serious back pain. She has had one surgery already and is facing another one soon. She has 4 small children and is generally very involved in the ministry of the Bible Baptist Church. Please pray for her.

$350,000 to be raised for property on the subway line in Sao Paulo; it is necessary to the future of this work to have property next to the subway in order to facilitate the transportation for the deaf and hearing who depend on the subway. At the present, we are borrowing a facility for Sunday services. However, we need our own facilities for weekly church activities as well as for a Deaf Bible Institute planned for February 2006.
